This page shows how systems of design can assist clients' decisions. Light is a key consideration and the consequences of coloured glass should be anticipated.

Engraved and sandblasted designs can reverse according to background, and changes occur according to direction and strength of daylight. In this example my clients wanted the date inscribed so that it could be read from both sides.

 

 

 

 

 

From various sources I developed my own system of colour harmony which appeared in my book for Tarquin Publications.

 

 

Clients often find style books helpful, especially when they are looking for a period style to suit the age of a particular building. I have collected many such standard volumes that are available on the market. These are available for consultation if you visit my studio, or I can bring them when I visit you at the site of your project.

The standard books leave some gaps so I have added numerous line drawings of my own e.g.
